The new Longchamp Parisian – Individual style through and through

"The Longchamp Parisian doesn't play by the rules: she puts different pieces together with charming nonchalance and that very French, seemingly effortless je-ne-sais-quoi"

How do you become a Longchamp Parisian?

Don't for one moment think that looking Parisian is difficult! It's worth noting that many Parisians weren't even born in Paris. The looks these girls sport are well thought-out, even if they'd have you think otherwise. They only incorporate carefully chosen pieces into their wardrobe, asking themselves a little question after they make a purchase: "Could I leave the store wearing what I've just bought straight away? ". She avoids eccentric clothing that would detract from that "effortless" (and self-aware) style so fundamental to the way she looks. She wants everything to be of impeccable quality, clothing that's timeless (shunning trends) and the ability to mix and match everything without creating style clashes. Simplicity, timelessness and elegance are the three words defining this free woman, who has no interest in being flashy.

What are the must-have pieces?

Her go-to pieces include white shirts, raw jeans, straight- or wide-leg trousers with the perfect drop, blazers and even small leather jackets. She also likes incorporating bold pieces into her wardrobe, like leather dresses, trench coats with fine details and any accessory that can make a real difference, i.e. bags in vibrant colours, timeless yet recognisable shoes and sunglasses that make their look personal to them. Being able to move freely is a must for her. A mainstay of any Longchamp Parisian's style is being positive and full of energy at all times. Her favourite accessory is her smile.

Describe the lifestyle of a Parisian.

Describe the lifestyle of a Parisian.

Dressed in chic, comfortable (you'll rarely see a true Parisian in high heels) clothing, she roams the capital indulging in two main pleasures: culture and good food. And that's not forgetting her friends, who make her laugh (she likes to laugh and never takes herself too seriously). She likes mixing philosophical discussion with clothes shopping. You'll find her in a café in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, in a museum showing the latest exhibition on everyone's lips or in a boutique on rue Saint-Honoré looking for her newest key piece.

Being self-confident is the best way for her to have style. She doesn't need anyone to fill her wardrobe for her; she chooses her clothes without others' input. Maybe a piece with a bold edge to it? She wears it but keeps the rest of her look simple to maintain that enduringly chic, non-eccentric charm. Elegance with no compromise. A style we can all flaunt regardless of nationality. In the words of Sacha Guitry, "Being a Parisian is not about being born in Paris, it is about being reborn there ".
